What are energy balls? 💪

Energy balls are ball-shaped snacks usually made using oats, nuts and fruit as well as some other whole food ingredients. They're a great alternative to store-bought snack bars which can be full of added sugars and sweeteners.

What are hemp seeds and where can I get them? 🌱

Technically a nut, hemp seeds are the seeds of the hemp plant. They belong to the same species as the Marijuana plant but are a completely different variety with no psychoactive effects! 🥴

They are incredibly nutritious, providing a great source of protein, healthy fats, Vitamin E and multiple minerals. You find get hemp seeds in most large supermarkets these days and you can also get them online.

 

COCO DREAM 5 MINUTE NUTTY ENERGY BALLS

 

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 heaped tbsp Coco Dream
  • 90g gluten-free oats
  • 6 Medjool dates (pitted)
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 40g chopped nuts

 

METHOD:

  1. Add the oats, hemp seeds and Coco Dream to a blender and blitz into a powder
  2. Add the dates one-by-one, blending each time, then add the peanut butter and blend once more
  3. Using your hands, roll the sticky mixture into 16 equal sized balls (around the size of a golf ball), roll each in the chopped nuts and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  4. Pop into the fridge for 1 hour to set, then transfer to an airtight container and store in the fridge for up to 1 week
